Castle of Illusion(MD) YouTube Rumble Odysee

Join me as we celebrate the entering of Mickey Mouse’s Steamboat Willie, into the realms of public domain, by retrospectively looking back at one of his most influential video games, Castle of Illusion, Starring Mickey Mouse, for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis. This was a game I played nonstop back in the 90’s so I’m looking forward to casting a critical eye, and putting it under the microscope.

In this lengthy retrospective, I take a look at all the ports, including the excellent Master System and Game Gear versions, dive into the history of the game, take a look at the magazines of the time for context, break the game down - level by level, and then, of course, I Wrank it. This is the penultimate episode in How Good Was it season one, so I hope you enjoy it, and subscribe to be notified when the season finale is released. Thank you to Mrs. Wranker for voicing Mizrabel, she didn't have to put on the voice :-D
