Japanese Exclusive PS1 Horror (PSX)

It's spooky season people, and this year I'm taking a look at three Playstation 1 horror games, which never left Japan. In true Halloween fashion, we will be grading the games either trick or treat, the most rigorous of ranking systems. To sweeten the deal, I've thrown in three honourable mentions and a bonus game to make this a true Spooktacular.

Due to time limitations, this is a far more surface level look at these games than my usual in-depth retrospectives. As a result, this information is not comprehensive, very subjective, and should not considered reference material. This is just a casual Halloween hang with your mate, the Wranker.

Fear Effect (PSX)

Welcome to the first episode of the new year, yep, we're pretending it's not March, and that this video didn't take 3 months to make. Seriously though, when I decided to make a retrospective on this game, I was thinking it would take around a month, and then I could move on... However, it didn't turn out that way.

On the surface, I thought this was just a simple PSX, survival horror, Resident Evil clone, nothing to complicated right? Nope, the more I dug into this one, the more I had to say, and this turned into my longest video to date.

Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza (PC)

Merry Christmas to you all. For the holiday season this year, I decided, I had to cover something Die Hard related, yes I know, I'm a hack, and Die Hard Nakatomi Plaza for the PC is what I went with. Released in 2002, it's a very interesting game that I thoroughly enjoyed, however, it's far from perfect, and Die Hard Nakatomi Plaza took me down a rabbit hole.

Doctor Hauzer(3DO)

New Day, new series, and for Halloween this year, I'm taking an in-depth look at Doctor Hauzer for the 3DO, to finally find out what this obscure game is all about. In this video, I take a look at the divisive 3DO console, talk about the zeitgeist of the time, and finally get to the bottom of the rumours that Doctor Hauzer was the true inspiration of Resident Evil. There was some serious crunch involved in making this to get this out for Halloween, so I hope you enjoy it.
